Hi, I am David DiPaola. I am an avid skier who loves to share my passion. At the age of 13, I was introduced to the sport of skiing through my middle school ski club. Instantly I was hooked. The mountain views, adrenalin and sensation of carving was pure exhilaration. I skied as much as I could through my teens and college on the east cost. In my early twenties, I had the opportunity to take my first trip out west. This was my first exposure to big mountain skiing. I was in awe. It was simply incredible to float in deep powder. However, the elation quickly faded as flaws in technique limited my ability in the steeps, moguls and trees. So I enrolled in only the second lesson of my life and saw progress but wanted to get to the next level. I returned back east and enrolled in Killington's Mogul Camp year after year with private lessons in between. Soon double blacks with trees and moguls were my focus every run. Then on a trip to Canyons my wife gave me a heliski trip for birthday with Powderbird Guides. Years of perfecting my technique would be put to the test in deep powder and insane runs. Simply put, the trip was OUTSTANDING! It was like being in a Warren Miller movie. So, our goal here at skienthusiast.com is to share what we have learned and help make your path to euphoria a little easier.
I am a husband to my beautiful wife for 8 years and father of two daughters. Other than skiing, I am passionate about travel, scuba diving, photo/videography, astronomy and education.
